From 29 July to 2 August 2024, the city of Pretoria, South Africa, hosted a pivotal training week for the PPVCII Fellows, organised by ANAPRI. This event marked a significant step in equipping researchers within the network with the tools and knowledge needed to drive transformative change. At the heart of this training were Value Chain Analysis (VCA) and Partial Equilibrium (PE), two critical methodologies that hold immense potential for reshaping Africa’s agriculture and food systems.

This initiative, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and co-partnered by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP), focused on empowering researchers with advanced analytical skills.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE ANAPRI CONFERENCE 2023
The just concluded ANAPRI Conference, held from the 14th to the 16th of November, 2023, at the Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, was a resounding success, bringing together experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to deliberate on crucial issues facing the food system in Africa. The three-day event featured a diverse range of sessions, discussions, and celebrations that encapsulated the spirit of collaboration, innovation, and progress.
