MODELLING SERVICE CENTRE (MSC)

The Modelling Service Centre (MSC) is an innovative project within the Africa Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ANAPRI) designed to provide advanced analytical support for policymakers, researchers, and development organizations across Africa. The centre focuses on delivering high-quality models, tools, and analytics to help stakeholders make informed decisions on agricultural policy, public investment, and value chain development.

By leveraging cutting-edge tools such as Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) models, Partial Equilibrium (PE) models, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and value chain analysis, the MSC helps governments and organizations assess the impacts of various policy scenarios. These models are designed to support inclusive agricultural transformation by identifying opportunities that drive agricultural growth, improve food security, increase incomes, and generate jobs.

Supported by key partners, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and the Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP), the MSC offers technical assistance, capacity-building programs, and access to comprehensive datasets. The centre's goal is to enhance decision-making processes across the continent, providing governments, private investors, and development agencies with actionable insights to tackle complex challenges in the agricultural sector.
