COMPREHENSIVE ACTION FOR CLIMATE CHANGE INITIATIVE (CACCI)

The Comprehensive Action for Climate Change Initiative (CACCI) is a groundbreaking project implemented through the Africa Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ANAPRI) aimed at developing a proof of concept for climate action across the continent. Responding to the Africa Climate Change Strategy and complementing the African Union's Green Recovery Action Plan, CACCI is designed to assist member states in effectively implementing their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and National Adaptation Plans (NAPs).

Supported by USAID and facilitated by Michigan State University, ANAPRI is actively working on the implementation of CACCI in Zambia and Ghana. These pilot programs aim to create a prototype that can be replicated in other regions of Africa, ensuring a comprehensive and cohesive response to climate challenges. The initiative aligns with the goals outlined in the Paris Agreement and adheres to the African Union’s frameworks on Climate Change, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable development.

In addition to the efforts in Zambia and Ghana, CACCI is also being rolled out in Senegal and Rwanda in collaboration with AKADEMIYA2063 (A2063). This multi-country approach highlights the initiative's commitment to fostering regional cooperation and knowledge sharing, enabling member states to learn from each other's experiences and best practices in climate action.
