The final session of the PPVC II Fellows Training Programme took place from 14th to 18th October 2024 in South Africa in South Africa, marked an intensive and rewarding experience for fellows from the different ANAPRI centres.

EMPOWERING ANAPRI CENTRES TO TRANSFORM AFRICA’S AGRICULTURAL LANDSCAPE
From 29 July to 2 August 2024, the city of Pretoria, South Africa, hosted a pivotal training week for the PPVCII Fellows, organised by ANAPRI. This event marked a significant step in equipping researchers within the network with the tools and knowledge needed to drive transformative change. At the heart of this training were Value Chain Analysis (VCA) and Partial Equilibrium (PE), two critical methodologies that hold immense potential for reshaping Africa’s agriculture and food systems.
CAPACITY BUILDING AND INSTITUTIONAL STRENGTHENING FOR EFFECTIVE AGRICULTURAL POLICY
From May 20th to 24th, 2024, the Africa Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ANAPRI) hosted a transformative Policy Prioritization through Value Chain Analysis (PPVC) training at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) in Ghana. This initiative, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and co-partnered by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the Bureau for Food and Agricultural Policy (BFAP), focused on empowering researchers with advanced analytical skills.
