Thinah Moyo is a Senior Lecturer at the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST). Thinah holds a PhD in Agricultural Economics from the University of Pretoria. She is the Coordinator of the Master of Agribusiness Management programme at NUST. She has expertise in statistical packages for social scientists. Her career interests include collection, collation, analysis and dissemination of empirical evidence on smallholder farmer development, rural livelihoods, project management, value chain analysis, Water-Energy-Food nexus, smallholder farmer market participation and evidence-based policy analysis aimed at improving the quality of life of smallholder resource-poor farm families.

Before joining NUST, Thinah was a Project Coordinator/Researcher and Lecturer in the Department of Agriculture, Extension and Rural Development of the University of Pretoria. She has participated in the following projects; Evidence-based Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems; Home Grown School Feeding Programme, Skeleton Coast Iona Transboundary project (SCIONA), South African Land Observatory (SALO), a WK Kellogg Foundation project, an Agricultural and Rural Finance project in collaboration with the Centre for Inclusive Banking in Africa (CIBA), Strengthening Capacity for Strategic Agricultural Policy and Investment Planning and Implementation in the SADC Region within ReSAKSS-SA (2011-2016), a Water Research Commission (WRC) funded project on Water use productivity associated with appropriate entrepreneurial development paths in the Limpopo Province, and an impact assessment of the Comprehensive Agricultural Support Programme (CASP) on the livelihoods of the rural poor in South Africa.

In 2002-2007, she was a Scientific Researcher at the International Crop Research Institute of the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT).
