When like-minded organisations and individuals, with similar visions and goals meet, it is always a pleasant and reinvigorating experience. Such meetings allow for vision sharing, assessment, encouragement and forward thinking. This is the reason behind the PRCI GLOBAL GATHERING scheduled to take place in Accra, Ghana from 25th to 27th April, 2023.
ANAPRI is pleased to be among various organisations that will converge at this Policy Research Capacity and Influence (PRCI) Innovation Lab (IL) Global Gathering. PRCI is implemented under the auspices of USAID’s Feed the Future initiative. The gathering will bring together senior leaders and experts from the PRCI consortium to discuss progress made under components of the initiative and its contribution to institutional capacity strengthening, globally. It will also feature presentations by STAAARS+ fellows and researchers. Another significant highlight of the meeting will be the showcasing of accomplishments of each of the members under the PRCI grouping. Undoubtedly, the gathering will also afford consortium members the opportunity to network and collaborate.
ANAPRI is a member of the PRCI consortium. The PRCI initiative has been helpful in propelling ANAPRI’s agenda to become a go to think tank in the continent. ANAPRI has been able to draw on the technical know-how of PRCI members, and also partnered with non-consortium members as a result. PRCI is managed by Michigan State University.
During the gathering, ANAPRI will also co-facilitate an event under the Comprehensive Action for Climate Change Initiative (CACCI) which ANAPRI co-implements with its partner, AKADEMIYA2063. ANAPRI will also present its latest project titled, ‘Strengthened African policy research institute analysis and convening for evidence-based policies to address short- and medium-term impacts of the global crisis in food, fuel and fertilizer availability and prices’.
Other members of the PRCI consortium include Cornell University (CU), Michigan State University (MSU), International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER).
The journey to Accra, Ghana is being anticipated with great expectation and prospects. ANAPRI looks forward to a purposeful meeting. ANAPRI’s Finance Chair, Prof Peter Quartey will be on the ground to represent both ANAPRI and the host institution, ISSER. Executive Director at ANAPRI Secretariat, Dr Nalishebo Meebelo and other network members are expected to participate in the gathering both in-person or virtually.
