DOMESTICATION AND STATUS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AFRICAN FERTILISER AND SOIL HEALTH ACTION PLAN

Progress in domesticating the African Fertiliser and Soil Health Action Plan was the focus of the sixth session of the recent ANAPRI Stakeholders Conference, showcasing how countries, coalitions, and regional bodies are advancing its implementation. Participants highlighted the urgency of expanding agronomic guidance, mobilising sustainable financing, and aligning national strategies with Africa’s long-term soil health vision. With growing political commitment and practical actions underway, the session reinforced the shift from intention to implementation, focusing on delivering measurable improvements for farmers and food systems.

AFS 2025: A CALL FOR ACTION

The Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS) 2025 in Dakar, Senegal, held from 31 August to 5 September, has come to a close, marking a week of rich dialogue, learning, and collaboration. Held under the theme: “Africa’s Youth Leading Collaboration, Innovation, and Implementation of Agri-Food Systems Transformation”, the Forum gathered leaders, researchers, farmers’ organisations, youth innovators, private sector actors, and development partners to reflect on challenges and forge new pathways for the continent’s food future.
