Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Greetings to all our valued stakeholders, partners, and supporters! As we proceed in this new year, we at the Africa Network of Agricultural Policy Research Institutes (ANAPRI) would like to wish you a productive and successful year ahead. Your unwavering support, collaboration, and commitment in the past have been instrumental in driving our shared vision forward, and for that, we remain sincerely grateful.

Work has already commenced in earnest at the ANAPRI Secretariat and across all our 16 centres in 15 different countries. With renewed vigour and determination, we are geared up to accomplish even greater milestones in the months ahead. Together, we will continue our mission of generating high-quality, evidence-based research to guide and inform effective policy decisions that promote sustainable agricultural solutions across the continent.

This year, we will be leveraging the successes of the previous year to build even stronger foundations for our ongoing initiatives. Key among these successes are:

  1. The Farmer Know Your Soil Campaign Initiative: This initiative supports the domestication of the Africa Fertilizer and Soil Health Action Plan (AFSH-AP) and the Soil Initiative for Africa (SIA). By equipping farmers with critical soil health knowledge, we are contributing directly to enhanced productivity and sustainability in African agriculture.
  2. The Coalition Agreement under the AFSH-AP Advocacy and Policy Pillar: Our coalition agreement with partners under the Advocacy and Policy pillar of AFSH-AP represents a significant collaborative effort. Together, we are working to accelerate policy alignment and advocacy, ensuring the effective domestication and implementation of the AFSH-AP and SIA. This partnership aims to strengthen agricultural systems across Africa through joint action and shared goals.
  3. The Launch of the ANAPRI Modelling Services Centre (MSC): The establishment of the MSC was a groundbreaking achievement last year. This initiative positions ANAPRI as a leader in agricultural policy analysis, providing cutting-edge modelling services to support evidence-based policy formulation and implementation.

In addition to these key initiatives, we will be advancing new frontiers and brokering new partnerships that align with our overarching goal of strengthening Africa’s agriculture and food systems. We remain committed to generating relevant and high-quality evidence that informs policy decisions and promotes sustainable agricultural growth. Our sleeves are rolled up for the work ahead!

Several research projects are currently ongoing at the ANAPRI Secretariat and across our various member centres. These projects span critical areas of agricultural policy, food security, and sustainable development, ensuring that our work continues to address the pressing challenges faced by the agricultural sector across Africa.

Meanwhile, plans are already underway for our 12th ANAPRI Stakeholders Conference, scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, in November 2025. This annual conference serves as a pivotal platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among stakeholders committed to transforming Africa’s food systems.

We are proud to report that all our 16 member centres across 15 different countries remain dedicated to our collective mission. Their commitment and collaborative spirit will be key to achieving our shared objectives in this year and beyond. You can check them out here
