Batamba Balembu Antoine is a Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Management, University of Kinshasa (DRC), and currently serves as Director of the Institute of Economic and Social Research (IRES). He holds a PhD in Economics (2015) and an international certification in Rapid Results Coaching (2016). His areas of expertise include public finance, economic governance, public sector management, and economic planning.

He has held senior advisory roles, notably at the Office of the Prime Minister (2020–2021) and the Ministry of External Trade (2024–2025), and has worked extensively as a consultant supporting public administration, private sector organisations and civil society in implementing performance-driven programmes such as the “100-Day Challenge”(a results-oriented programme designed to achieve rapid, measurable improvements within a short timeframe—typically 100 days. In the DRC, it has been used both by government and organisations to accelerate reforms, strengthen institutions, and deliver visible outcomes in areas such as infrastructure, governance, and public services).

He has also contributed as an expert to projects funded by international partners, including SENAREC, CFEF, CN¨P and PAPAKIN. His research and publications focus on corruption, fiscal policy, decentralisation, mining governance and the structural transformation of the Congolese economy. Through his academic work and consultancy, he actively engages in debates on economic reform and governance in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
